I've been really into photography lately. The saturation and values I can get with my camera [not that it's an impressive camera, but it's a nice little digital that I'm fond of] have really appealed to me, and I'd like to take more photos. Preferably of people, since I have little interest in anything else. While yes, I admit I enjoy photographing myself to an extent, I do most enjoy drawing, painting, and photographing people. I just happen to be my own most available subject.
I'd love to photograph my friends, the overcast weather yesterday was beautiful, although I had on my "color swap" filter on (whatever exactly that means) for most of the shots. the couple without a filter though had really lovely saturation.
I'm registering for my classes for my first semester of college. I'll be a freshman this fall. As for majors, I was debating between theatre-something and fine arts-something. Since ultimately what I've wanted for a long time is screen acting, I decided that the straight theatre classes, and taking that route, wouldn't prepare me for screen acting enough so to merit majoring in it. So I'm going to take some electives in acting and all that, and major in art, so that I can procure a job doing that while I try to make it acting.
I think I'm going to focus on painting or drawing (or both?), and take the electives in acting of course, but I'd also love to take photography and a language class. There's so much I don't know about photography, and it's always been a quiet interest of mine. I've enjoyed taking photos somewhat diligently for the past four or five years. I've gone from a really shitty digital camera to a very nice one. What I'd really love is a really nice SLR, and to learn about them and learn more about photography.
I think being inspired by =rooze has helped too, and finally paying attention to some other photographers on dA.
I feel goofy saying it, but I'm falling in love with art. I just feel so ready to throw myself into. Purely for enjoyment, I don't really feel prepared [yet?] to throw myself into art as a career or anything, I'm still set on acting. But it's definitely captured my attention and interest right now, unlike it ever has before.
